Loren Waters is an award-winning Cherokee and Kiowa filmmaker whose creative work spans several disciplines including Directing, Producing, and Casting. Her background as an Indigenous woman offers a unique perspective that fuels her storytelling capabilities when conceptualizing imagery.
She’s worked on notable films and television shows including RESERVATION DOGS, FANCY DANCE, and KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON. She recently received the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation LIFT Award and the Running Strong Foundation Dreamstarter Environmental Justice Award. She has participated in fellowships such as the First Peoples Fund Cultural Capital Fellowship, 4th World Media Lab, and the Intercultural Leadership Institute Year 4.
Her short documentary “ᏗᏂᏠᎯ ᎤᏪᏯ (MEET ME AT THE CREEK)” is screening at several Academy Award-qualifying film festivals internationally in 2024. Loren continues to tell socially relevant stories rooted in cross-cultural Indigenous experiences and community collaboration.
